Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Reporting:
Query/Results for UNIX
Starting Results with multiple databases
This section describes how to start Results from your operating system using more than one database in single-user and multi-user modes. For more information about the issues involved with using multiple databases, see the OpenEdge Development: Progress 4GL Handbook .
Note the following points concerning multiple databases:
- Before you can start databases in multi-user mode, you must start servers for them. To start servers for the databases, see the "Starting a server for the database" section. This section describes how to use multi-user startup commands for Results.
- When you finish using databases in multi-user mode, and before you turn off the computer, you must shut down the server process for each database. See the "Shutting down a server for the database" section for information about shutting down servers.
